Memories from the Mayor

Stay Calm and Carry On

My mom went next door to the Fuller’s house to borrow some sugar for a pie. While she was gone, Doug came in with a box. Inside the box were four baby skunks. They were so cute, each of us took one, held it, and sat in a circle on the living room carpet admiring the babies.

Mom came home and when she walked into the living room and saw us, she screamed at the top of her voice, “Quick, run!” Each of us held on to our skunk and ran!

Did you ever notice how when you try to address a problem, sometimes it just multiplies into more problems? Next, time you’re faced with four baby skunks, don’t run, pet them, enjoy them, wait for the mother to come and quietly take them away. “Stay Calm and Carry On”
