City Hall

The City of Calvert City is a Mayor-Council form of government, which means there is a distinct separation of powers between the Executive Branch (Mayor) and the Legislative Branch (Council).  The Council approves the City's budget and establishes all the laws (ordinances) of the City.  The Mayor runs the City within the constraints established by the Council. 

Lynn Jones is the Mayor of Calvert City and has held the office for 17 years.  Calvert City’s Councilmen are Gene Colburn, Neeta Hale, Tanara Babcock, Jeremy Rowe, Chris Harrington and Kevin Stokes.

Calvert City – City Hall is open to the public Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  We are here to assist the citizen’s.  City Hall contains the offices’ of the City Administrator, Clerk/Finance Officer, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Mayor and Utility Manager.  


City Administrator 

The Office of City Administrator functions to coordinate the efforts of the various City Departments for the most cohesive operations.  The City Administrator functions as the City's Zoning Administrator, Floodplain Administrator, Alcohol Beverage Control Officer and Human Resource Officer.  The City Administrator is Secretary to the Board of AdjustmentsCemetery BoardPark Board and Planning Commission.  Calvert City’s City Administrator is John Ward


City Clerk/Finance Officer                                          

The office of City Clerk/Finance Officer is exactly as it states a dual role.  The City Clerk is the Official keeper of the City’s Seal and all records of the City.  The City Clerk is the official recorder for the Meetings of the City Council and Utility Board.  The Finance Officer is the finance director of the City.  Calvert City’s – City Clerk/ Finance Officer is Glenda Adair.


Marketing, Communications and Business Development Director

The role of the director of marketing, communications and business development focuses on Calvert City's promotional efforts on our unique attractions, heritage and history as well as prepares and implements economic and community development plans, programs, and services. The director is responsible for working closely with the city hall staff and city council in promoting the business and economic development interests within the community. Calvert City's director is Blair Travis.


Utility Manager

The Utility Manager is the head of the Water and Sewer Department for Calvert City.  The Utility Department maintains 100 miles water lines within and outside of the City limits.  It also maintains 25 miles sewer lines and Golden Acres Sewer Plant.  Calvert City’s Utility Manager is Roger Colburn.
